To observe things is to recognise the passing of time. I use video to explore economic activities in urban landscapes, attending to the particularity of things.

I film landscapes being altered by social developments, making the viewer an observer of commonplace scenes passing into history. The sequences I create are ordinary today but will need explanation in the future.Im interested in the way social forces are made physical through uildings and landscapes. The videos present a mixture of objects, stories and historical facts. Everything is connected: flags and taxi trips are interwoven with peoples memories and plants growing.

In these videos my presence determines whats recorded and duration C where should I stand? How long should I stay and look? The camera is an avatar for myself  C always caught in the act of making it up, unable to cross into the scene being filmed.
